Kris Jenkins “Not Impressed” with Tim Tebow

Posted on January 30, 2010

Allstate Sugar Bowl - Florida v Cincinnati

For all those who couldn't see the Senior Bowl on the NFL Network the only notable item through the first half came from New York Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins on the halftime show. Jenkins assesses Tim Tebow's 3 for 6, 23 yard passing performance in the first half at the Senior Bowl by saying that they should "put him in as an H back in the 2nd half."

"I'm not impressed, sorry. If he takes that into the NFL, it's not gonna be a very long career."

Tebow finished his day 8 of 12 for 50 yards passing with two fumbles.

In the post game show, the studio crew threw it down to Mobile, Alabama for a taped interview with Tebow on the field where he said of his week, "I feel like I improved every day." He also mentioned his continued work on fundamentals leading up to the NFL draft.

After throwing it back to the studio, the crew on set mentioned his battle with strep throat and a reported 103 degree temperature during the week.

Jenkins added to his halftime comments about Tebow by saying the former Florida quarterback would need "a couple of years of development and then he could emerge. It's going to take some work."

A report in Canada suggests that he's entrusted some of that fundamental work to Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman. Montreal would also apparently be his home in the CFL, if it ever comes down to that.
