Steve Nash likes England better than America

It's not personal, Uncle Sam. It's just soccer...
You already knew that Steve Nash has overcome adversity in life having grown up in Canada but now the recessive trait is expressing itself in South Africa. Nash not only pledges allegiance to the Maple Leaf, he prefers St. George's Cross over the Stars and Stripes as well.
Yeah, the Phoenix Suns point guard is in Johannesburg rooting for England, as told to the Dan Patrick Show:
"My family's all English so I've been an England fan my whole life. But I really want to see the U.S. do well and see people back home excited about the sport so I'm rooting them on from this point forward."
Who would he root for if England and the U.S. played again in the knockout round?
"I'm pulling for England. I'm not one of these fans who's two-faced and tell the American audience that I really care about their team but, no, I do care. I want them to do well but I could never pull for them over England."
To be fair, my family's roots can be traced back to Russia so I have no rooting interest in this World Cup.
