Outside of a basketball game, Duke's head basketball coach claims he's never driven 11 miles southwest of the Durham campus...

Asked by Dan Patrick if he would go to a restaurant in Chapel Hill, Coach K had this mildly incredible response:

MK:

I've never been to Chapel Hill.

DP:

You've never been to a Chapel Hill restaurant...

MK:

Ever. And never will.

I just don't want to go to Chapel Hill.

I'm not against anybody, I've just decided I never want to go into Chapel Hill.

I'm not being defensive. I'm being adamant about my desire and passion to do that and I don't think I have to write a big explanation about it. I'm certainly not going to have any privacy in Chapel Hill.

If there's anything noteworthy about this exchange, it's not the idea about not going to a restaurant. It's the claim that Krzyzewski has never been to Chapel Hill... ever.

At least for any reason other than a basketball game.

Perhaps the President can broker a peace accord.
