Tim Brown Annoyed by Hall of Fame Snub

"If it doesn't happen in Dallas this year I hope the voters are getting out of town real quick..."
The Pro Football Hall of Fame voters have made a significant statement in recent years: wide receivers are an annoyance with numbers inflated by pass happy offenses of the last 20 years.
How else to explain that of the top 11 receivers of all time (based on receiving yards), just 2 of the 6 who are hall of fame eligible have actually been inducted.
Following this weekend's ceremonies, Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Henry Ellard, and Andre Reed have at least another six months to stew over the latest snub.
Brown went a step further by taking the axe he has to grind with voters to the airwaves with "Hartman in Friends" in Los Angeles:
"These folks, they have a hard time with receivers for some reason so I'm going to sit back and be patient and whatever happens -- but if it doesn't happen in Dallas this year I hope the voters are getting out of town real quick because I've got some people who are going to be looking for them."
Dallas is the site of this season's Super Bowl festivities, a time that always includes the announcement of the next hall of fame class.
Brown was likely expecting to enter Canton on the first ballot along with Jerry Rice but Rice proves to be the exception when it comes to automatic entry from the receiver position.
Of the top 7 current Hall of Famers in receiving yards only two, Rice and Steve Largent, entered on first year eligibility. The other five (James Lofton, Art Monk, Charlie Joiner, Michael Irvin, and Don Maynard) waited an average of 5 years (11 years after retirement) to get the hall call.
Here's hoping Brown doesn't wait that long... for the voters' sake anyway.
